ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS

There is a variety of activities arranged by the Committee throughout the year for members and their guests.

EVENING TALKS
A series of
evening talks on subjects of interest to members are held from October to March at the United Reformed Church in Farnham, starting at 8 pm. Non-members are welcome to attend. For 2006/2007, the evening talks are as follows:

OUTINGS
Three
outings are arranged each year to places of interest. In recent years visits have been made to Waddesdon Manor, Chiswick House, Eltham Palace, London Docklands, Greenwich, Worcester, Parham House, Lambeth Palace, Shakespeare's Globe, Chawton House, Apsley House and Broughton Castle.

COFFEE MORNINGS
Coffee mornings are arranged at local venues each year in June and September. Many of the venues are private residences of local historic and/or architectural interest. In recent years these social events have been held at The Grange, Moor Park House, The Ranger’s House in Farnham Park, Guildford House in Castle Street, Overdeans Court in Dippenhall, Red House Farm in Elstead, Wrecclesham Pottery, Frensham Heights School, Pierrepont House and Norney Grange.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Other special social events are held as and when it is felt appropriate. For example, our Millennium Party at Farnham Castle and our Drinks Party to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002 also at Farnham Castle. Another favourite event is the annual get-together for all the members who help by delivering newsletters, organising events, serving coffees, etc.

NEWSLETTER
Each member receives a copy of the Society’s newsletter twice a year which is either delivered by hand or sent by post.
